Saber Lily Costume from Fate/Unlimited Codes.

I'm not happy with this costume just yet. I need to redo all the white bias tape and remake the center pleat section. I also want to remake the sleeves bigger.

This costume was exceedingly difficult. All the brown bias tape is hand made and hand sewn down. Patterns were drafted from my sloper.

So… hi. I’m the Anthy in the picture here. Originally, I wasn’t going to respond to this because it’s just silly, but I did want to address a comment in particular that was made and might as well just address the rest.

I’ve read… most of the comments. I have never EVER said someone shouldn’t cosplay something because of the color of their skin. I’m in the camp of people can cosplay whatever the fuck they want as long as they want to and have fun doing it. I’ve gotten a lot of shit over the years for it since I don’t really care if someone likes/watches/plays a series they are cosplaying from. I’ve been guilty of it. So whoever is saying that either 1. doesn’t know me or is 2. starting shit. Or both, who knows. Hell, my former cosplay partner is Hispanic and cosplays non-Hispanic stuff all the time. I seriously do not care.

My close friend Diana asked me to cosplay Anthy for her. I said yes. The guy who cosplayed with us as Anthy’s brother is really dark and I wanted to match. It’s REALLY hard to darken your skin like that and make it look natural and non streaky. It was an accomplishment and I was very excited about how it came out. I’ve been cosplaying for almost 13 years and this is the first time I attempted something like this and I’m sorry, it won’t be my last. I had a lot of fun in Anthy and being with my friends. I was there to support them while they competed in the WCS. So no amount of people calling me a racist will ever take that away from me and that’s why I don’t really care about those comments.

It’s weird to me that changing your eyes color, hair color, breast size, height and body shape is okay, but changing your skin isn’t.

As far as other inquiries/comments: I am about the whitest thing that ever whited in whiteville, the wig doesn’t make my forehead look huge, I have a huge forehead naturally, it was all done with make-up.

My Motoko costume from Ghost in the Shell. The version is Hard Disk and is from the original video game that came out in ‘97. It still has some details I need to add. My IDE cables didn’t come in on time, so I left a lot of wires out. I want to remake the head set (you couldn’t even tell it lit up) and there’s details missing from the gloves.

I’m looking for a few good Sabers to join my group for Katsucon 2012! I went and dug up 68 outfits of Saber’s. Most of them are canon. She has a lot of outfits!
